About the course
Do you have a flair for hair?
Get practical skills backed up by theoretical knowledge using project based learning. From simple blow waves to fashion-focused colouring techniques, you can get creative!
This certificate will equip you with the skills and techniques to set you on the path to becoming a professional stylist. On completion, you can progress into the NZ Certificate in Hairdressing (Professional Stylist) (Level 4).
Outline
The purpose of this qualification is to provide the hairdressing industry with people who have obtained sufficient knowledge, practical skills and attitudes to perform limited salon and client support services that contribute to the effective operation of the salon.
This qualification is suitable if you have no prior knowledge or experience in support services for hairdressing salons and clients and if you wish to provide limited salon support and client support services in a hairdressing salon.
Project-based learning will be used to deliver the content practically so you are industry aligned and as a graduate you will be capable of operating at a foundation level under supervision.

- Foundation skills to designing a total look including short and long hair styling, cutting, colouring and reformation basics
